Why do we need a science and technology education research network?

Science and Technology Education Research Network (STERN) is established to collaborate and contribute to disparate attempts by government, education, university and industry to advance science and technology education in Australia.  We strive to facilitate the development of science and technology education in schools and initiate collective responses from educational professionals, researchers and policy makers who are interested in best practice models of science and technology education in primary and secondary schools in Australia.  Our aim is to build a learning communities who will be able to contribute to professional development of teachers and bring latest science and technology knowledge to our students.

Our network members link with NASA, CERN Geneva and other leading science and technology organisations and we hope our scientific institutions such as CSIRO and our scientists, technologists and entrepreneurs will play active role in this learning community.
